In my neck of the land used to be a lot of leasing by Club groups. Then according to Indiana law when a person or group leases the land and the land owner takes money then the landowner assumes liability of accidents and so on. That stopped the leasing program. |

Was born and raised in a rural county in central Wisconsin. A large percentage of the land was owned by the county or paper mills. In the mid 60s this changed and most of the county land was sold off, the bulk of it in 20-40 acre parcels. Up went the No Trespassing signs. Some was sold to large corporation farms who cleared the land and installed hi-cap wells and grow potatoes. The paper mill land was sold off to a co. who again put it up for sale in smaller plots. Needless to say hunting access has been greatly curtailed. |

In western Kansas there's a lot more money to be made with deer hunting than upland game, ergo the restricted hunting areas are reserved mostly for deer hunters. |
