Oldhunter,
Byron is just getting a good pick in on me. We had fun visiting together at the 16 ga shoot put on by Jeff (JNW). 😛 |

Just this summer i have finally found a good use for the SP-16 wad, so I hope it hangs around. Maybe I need to stock up... |

I've frequently used the SP16 wad in the past but not so much now. Still, it's never good to lose another tool from the tool belt.
And Happy Friday right back at cha my friend. And yes, it sometimes pays to be slightly nuts about something we like. It helps keep da mid-summer blues away. Besides, normal is soooooo boring. |

Maybe it is time for me to inventory to figure out what components I have so I can decide if I want to purchase 5,000 SP16 just in case. |

My case of SP16s showed up this week from MidwayUSA so I am set for a while regardless of the outcome.

I don't hunt, so I do not know the advantages of a 16 in the field. They are not common on either the Trap Field or the Skeet Field, nor do I think they are common on the Sporting Clays, 5 Stand, Wobble or Bunker Trap fields.
I have owned shotguns since the mid-60s and never owned a 16 gauge. Three years ago one of my friends forced me into buying a 16 gauge 1100 as he said that my statement that I had a "Full Set" was incorrect as I did not have a 16 gauge 1100. In the following year I added an O/U, a SxS and a Pump to that list and I will probably try to find a Bolt Gun and Single Shoot and maybe even a lever action one (were any made in 16?) to my growing 16 gauge group, so having components that allow me to load up to 1 1/8 target loads is a priority for me.
I am, like everyone here I assume, Hooked on 16s now.

Remington is up to something. We have heard that the STS target ammo is destined to Wal Mart, independent dealers are unable to order. When Remington can push all product through one distribution channel it saves them money, lots of money. Has anyone heard a similar story? |

Disappointingly:
I've heard others say they don't wish to be in the components resale biz.
Positive:
I recently saw a review by Randy Wakeman giving his opinion that QC has made a turn and the last year or so he's been impressed with improved quality in the firearms.
I too figure changes are coming to their ammo options. |
