I see nice shot used to offer #2 shot for the 16 gauge, anyone know if its available anywhere? Would I still treat this like steel? I used #2 shot steel in my 12 gauge and had issues bringing down late season goose, would #4 nice be equivalent to #2 steel? I figured #2 nice shot would have a little much take down power than #2 steel.
Thanks. |

Nice shot is nothing like steel shot it is way way better . Nice is more like lead and is great stuff for Water Fowl and where non-tox is need ,#4 being like #5 lead or a little better . I used #2 for Geese and it takes then down no problem .
This where you get it when it's available .

Speaking of Nice Shot, has anybody bought bulk nice shot since it started being made in the USA instead of China (or wherever it was made overseas)? |

its funny, i see the link on the sidebar on their site, when I click it, it appears to lead me to the homepage. The only available options I see are #4 and #7.5 |

Like I said when its available . Dan hasn't made any #5s in couple of years . Call Dan he might be able to give you better idea of what he is going to have available .

We bounced some emails back and forth. Told me he would have 5's by end of July. Asked for an update a few weeks ago, not heard back. Just assume he's running late. Wanted them for public pheasant and duck season. |

It's probably been longer than couple years since he had #5 , more like 4 . I bought 4s last time , thats why I went to 1 1/8oz loads . They are killer on ducks big or small and did a good job on Close in Geese when I was in Stuttgart last year . I wanted the 5s for 1oz to save a little money .
Charlie keep use up dated , although if the ITX10 works out I will more than likely just stick with that. |

I bought #4's right after the new owner took over. It does not look like the original Nice Shot. What I received was in a plastic bottle, was dull as opposed to shiny and was banded. Looks like ITX to me. I have not reloaded any of it as I still have some of the original left. |

The new 4S I bought are banded , similar in appearance to ITX but are a lot softer. |

Are they pretty much a true American sized #4? Probably hard to measure with the band. |

Dave , NS is truer to size than ITX10 which is more like 4 1/2s but the NS stack better than ITX .
1 1/8oz of NS stacks about a 1/16th shorter than 1 1/8oz ITX10. |
