Ok I probably shouldn't be involved since I don't have this shotgun in my possesion. A high school aged trapper at my club recently purchased a Ted Williams Model 300 in 16ga. It will not eject, he feels it is short.stroking. Can anyone offer thoughts of common problems with this model. The only shells fired in it were Fed. 1oz. low brass( his words ). He said there are no o-ring seals. I have very little experience.with autoloaders ( Rem. 1100 a lifetime ago). Thanks for any info I can pass along. Bob Lee |

That is a Winchester M1400 made for Sears and relabeled the Ted Williams 300. They are generally pretty good guns. I used to own a Winchester Ranger M140 which was basically a 1400. It was a 20 gauge and I shot skeet with it for years without a hiccup when I was young and could not afford a nicer gun. It sounds to me like the piston is gummed up and/or corroded. I bet a good take it apart and clean everything will solve the problem.
