I really enjoy the novelty of shooting vintage ammo in my Foxes and LC Smiths. I picked up 35 boxes of minty 16 gauge vintage ammo this weekend after buying it from someone on the Fox collectors site.

A lot of it is 2 9/16ths which is great for shooting in vintage guns. I'll check it out to make sure it works fine but it all looked minty to me.

Realistically it should last me the rest of my life shooting one or two boxes a year.

Here are a few of the lots. You might notice I got it for a great price.

Very nice!
I'd actually be interested in one of those empty boxes if you decide to sell them, I love those on my shelf as decoration.

Those Peters boxes might bring 35.00 per box if the boxes are in reasonable shape and are full. There is an auction company that sells a lot of ammo boxes several times a year. They are Wardsauction.com.
Just FWIW

Regards, Gordon

Just curious do any of them have original price tags on them? It's interesting to see what people paid back in the day.

If you have a chronograph, you might run a few over the sensors. I tested some old CIL plastic rounds this summer that only chronographed in the 900 fps range.

Nice snag of some nostalgia!

I acquired a Merkel 16 ga SxS six months ago and found some new Cheddite paper hulls and am loading them for that gun only. It just seems right to have paper hulls in that gun, and the aroma from the fired shells takes me back to the 60s.
