Now that dove season is over, what was your final total.
Here we found a milo field and were able to get a limit of birds each and every day we went out. I took about a hundred birds out of it. Then I quit hunting it and took others to hunt,
It was great seeing some kids get limits for the first time. In fact watching and helping them get limits was more satisfying than shooting.
Just a quick calculation of the birds I took plus the birds the kids took makes it near 1000 birds taken from this field this year. |

Here in Florida, dove season does not end until the middle of January 2017. Heck, I haven't even been out yet, but I still plan to. It is actually starting to cool off slightly.

We still have a holiday window for dove that TPWD gives us around Christmas/New Year's, so my final total isn't in yet (though way down from last year). I got chosen to participate in a US Fish and Game survey of my dove season, so I'm keeping track. Will turn it in around the end of the year after the holiday hunt. Supposed to be introducing new shooters/hunters to the sport, husband and wife who are neighbors directly behind me.
