Remington Sportsman-48 16 gauge
Here for sale is a very nice first year production (1949) Remington Sportsman-48. The shotgun is in excellent condition with no major bluing wear and only a few small stains in the metal. The wood is very well figured and has no cracks or dents. It has the original buttplate and forend cap. It has a 28” barrel that was a very full choke, so I had Bob Odenthal open it up to .017” (tight mod). The bore and chamber are clean and shiny and everything functions crisply. I get the impression that it wasn’t shot all that much. This 48 is a light one at 6 3/4 pounds. I’m asking $350 and I’ll cover the shipping and insurance.

Dang it! that's got to be some of the prettiest wood I've ever seen on an 11-48. Wish I could have seen this 5 seconds after Dave posted it. |

So glad we worked it out, Gary. You have been a pleasure throughout the sale and your payment was prompt and and your communication has been excellent! I've also enjoyed our phone chats! Thanks, Gary! |

Dave,
It truly has been a pleasure getting to know you better. Thank you for the help on this password mess I created for myself. I do believe I have it fixed now with the help of smith@longspur.org. He must think I am a bit slow by now
I am so anxious to see the 11-48. I bought a gun here a few years back from Danny Pratt and while discussing it with my CFO (aka wife) I told her "this isn't a cheap price dear but if this character didn't Photoshop these pictures it will be one of the nicest guns I have." When it arrived it was way better than the pictures and Danny is a great friend now. I am sure your gun will be just as nice.
Thanks and Merry Christmas,
Gary |
