I was just offered a ridiculously high amount of money for my As New 16 Gauge Browning 525 30" Sporting.

The offer made me do two things, first, contact the original marketers of this product (his widow at leas) and second contact Browning. This confirmed just how FEW were ever contracted and built and confirmed the rarity.

Getting that high offer and finding out the real rarity made me turn the deal down.

If anyone out there is a lucky owner of one of these and wants to make a hansom profit, let me know and I will put you in touch with the guy. He and his wife want to give one to their 80 year old father (hers) that has always wanted one.

Enquiring minds want to know.

When I talker to Browning, the guy I talked to said these were custom order guns and that there were four runs of 75 each produced. All Grade three and all 30". The first run was in 1996 and the last in 2006. Not sure how accurate that is, but that is what I was told.

I have found one for the guy looking.

Thanks

My 32" was made in 2006 but my 30" was made in 2007

Its interesting how even Browning is confused on this gun. In any case I have one and even shot it today. With the 16 gauge sized receiver (not built on a 12 or 20 gauge frame according to the guy I talked to at Browning) even with 30" Barrels it seems disproportionately long.

When the deal is finished I will post it. Those that have them will be happy. Those that want to sell them will be happier.

There is another guy on Shotgun World Looking for one. He said he would pay "Stupid" money for one. I will post the results of that later.

Before I owned one my wife went on a search to buy one for me. She found a fella that had a nib 30". She offered him $3500 for it and he came back that he would take $5000 for it. I stepped in the middle before money changed hands but she was gonna buy it due to the fact she was ready to end the search and see me shooting my new gun. So nothing would totally surprise me on someone going above and beyond for a loved ones dreams.

I am just glad that I did not sell mine as when the UPS truck would have driven away I would have kicked myself. Put another 50 rounds through it yesterday.
