There is a "square" recoil spring in my 1925 A5. It is my understanding that the Remington M11 springs were of this type, but the Browning springs were/are all of the round type.
Is this accurate information? In other words, does my Browning have a Remington spring? |

for A-5's, one a MAG 12.
They were round wire stock.
THe 12MAG is different from the Standard 12.
No knowledge of the Remington spring . |

Early springs where square , probably original , If you going to shoot it alot you should get a replacement . |

I have already ordered a new spring, and noticed that no wire-type springs seem to be found as I searched for a new one. Figured the spring that came with the gun was probably quite a bit older than I am, even if not original. |

You'll be amazed at how much "longer" your new spring it compared to the old one, 😁 |

I wondered about that. Does anyone know what the length of a new one would be? (I presume they are made to a standard. It will be some time until my new one is delivered, and I am curious). |

Not sure the length of the new ones. All I had meant is the old ones sure compress and they don't look like there is anything wrong with them but when you get a new one they look so much longer due to the lack of compression. |
