and comparing against their 2004 "reloaders' guide" , I'm not sure about all my recent loading.
Example:just loaded 37 round of .45ACP, using the
Hornady 230 gr FMJ-FP and 5.4 gr of Green dot,
online has 7.1 grs of BE-86 powder, no greendot
change over to the on-line listing for Green Dot the load changes to 5.3 gr using a 230 LSWC.
Is the 2004 in valid??
For 9mm Parabellum, Sierra's tech line indicate that for 124 gr FMJ, use between
4.5 to 5.7 max with Power Pistol
2004 shows: use 7.2 gr, of P.P.
On-line: use 6.4 gr using P.P.
What beside buying their new powders, am I missing? |

I have loaded and fired hundreds of 45 ACP using both cast 230 grain bullets andplated 230 grain bullets using 4.3 grains of Green Dot,with an overall length of 1.230. I used Bullseye for loads using jacketed bullets. Idont think the older data is obsolete, but remember to reduce the max charge by 10%.Load a few, maybe 10,and check the function before loading a big batch. |
