I'm sure your scores will rise and you're feeding the birds at the same time. Win, Win

I have used a number of fillers over the years.

My favorites are:

oat meal

pinto beans

bird seed

I like the idea of bird seed for hunting loads as I am planting food plots while hunting.

Sounds like a recipe for disaster.... or at least, lunch. Laughing

I have to make a confession here folks. Of all the fillers I have tried, I prefer custard, preferably in the center of a donut. It doesn't make my loads any better, but sure does taste good.

Well, I love cheerios. My favorite dog loves cheerios. My cheddite reloads with 1628 wads love cheerios. When I make my secret formula trail mix, I never leave out the cheerios. And, upon shooting one of the aforementioned rounds, I sometimes lift that empty smoking shell to my nose and inhale the lovely fragrance of burnt powder with just a hint of cheerios. Now, I know fiber fillers make some of you feel better about your shells, but for me, it will always remain the venerable cheerio. And, with that, I say adios, arevadeci and of course CHEERIO...

We just have to be careful about using our oat fortified wonder loads for migratory birds- could be a sticky point for law types. I mean, after all, the federal baiting laws do technically outlaw hunting where feed or grain has been artificially distributed until weeks after said grain has been consumed. Hmmm. Maybe we should use a tofu substitute. Heaven knows that wouldn't be considered edible.

Kix is a winner for me. The kiddos have been coming down on me pretty hard for robbing their cereal though!

That's considered to be "baiting the field" ain't it? So the ticket the nice warden hands you and the confiscated gun is a Lose, Lose. Shocked Laughing

For the pen-raised birds you want to make sure that you get the Gluten Free Cheerios.
