I've shot maybe 2 of the many bunnies Molly has run . She was so fast , they'd always be going 35mph . She has the damdest scream when she's on a track . the amazement is how long she can run fast and scream and breath !! The aarroooah is her at home bark/howl . She doesn't get out so much now , but once out , she won't quit till she can barely walk . Like you say , it's more about the chase ! Really wakes up the neighborhood when she gets off the leash and chases here at home ! |

16gaDavis, in the briar and pine thickets where we hunt, everything slows down a bit. If the rabbit ever comes out and makes a lap through the tall pines( which have nearly no cover to slow them down) they grab another gear. The rabbit and dogs run as if you set them on fire.
Wyochukar, a cottontail is probably not the brightest bulb in the pack., but we also hunt two kinds of swamp rabbits called cane cutters and Bluetail and they are crafty devilish rabbits that will test you and your dogs patience. Rabbits are not much on fight, but they have perfected flight in the briars of Georgia! |
