Woops! Mike Campbell is right. The A.H. Fox poll is just too limiting. Let's hear it from everybody about your favorite U. S. Made double. Vote, then if you want, post to let us know why you like your choice best.

The issue specific to this thread is your "favorite American double". For me, my favorite American double would be the one that has, on average, the highest marks for function, looks, reliability, and value. For me thats a Fox.

I missed Parker!!! Again, HUGE MISTAKE on my part. Here it is, right on the list in front of me. Let's see if I can edit it in. Hope so.

Can't seem to change a Poll. Darn. Parker lovers, forgive me, and please just chime in to support your gun, and we'll take it into account. My omission of Parker is a major error. Embarassed Rolling Eyes

Fox is my favorite but I would have voted for LeFever also if allowed to choose two, it's that close for me.

0 Frame Parker with a Model 21 Winchester for those situations involving heavy loads.

Great combination, AmericanMeet, no doubt about it. I'd counter with a 16 gauge graded Fox (I like C grade), and a Super Fox 3" for those heavy loads, but it's about an even choice. Though I've shot good examples of all guns in these combinations, except for a Super Fox, I don't own either of these two combinations.

My vote goes to the FOX (philly) but I think Parker should have been included in all fairness.

+1 on the "O" frame Parker in 16 Ga. What a great handling shotgun. Very Happy

My favorite is always the one I am engraving on at the time...or shooting at the time. I just favor older American made firearms!

JSwanson, You are right, of course, and the fault is all mine for leaving the Parker out. I did not do it intentionally, nor to spite anyone, as I enjoy Parker's, too, and the are for sure one of the best U. S. made guns ever. Parker was/is right here on the list I used, still sitting in front of me on my desk, and in alphabetizing them to input them as choices on the poll, I somehow left Parker out. Big booboo on my part. I apologize to all. I do not seem to be able to correct this mistake without posting another poll -- I'd probably foul that one up somehow, too. Laughing

Hey SamW! Can you show us some of your engraving? I suppose you have enough customers already, but if you don't, here's your chance, perhaps. Either way, most of us would appreciate your artwork.

Cheers!
Tony

Hi Tony,

I am on a slow dial-up system (remote location) and photobucket type sites don't work for me.

However, if you go to engraverscafé.com near the top of the page you will see a number of "buttons" and in the middle is one titled interviews. Click on that and page down about half way and you will find one about me. There are a few photos at the end of the interview, including a Winchester, one of only two Presentation Grade Model 21 Winchesters made, that I did for the USRAC Custom shop just before they closed the shop. It is also the only 21 you will see with one set of barrels, with one barrel 20 ga. and one barrel 28 ga.

There are a number of engravers listed there.

Also on the fega.com site click on master engravers and my name and there is a gallery of a few photos there.
