Visited the Browning booth at Pheasant Fest. Got to finally handle a new Sweet 16. What a lovely, long wand. I am working on getting them to come to the Sweet 16 Shoot with some samples this year. The really good news is they plan on making another run of 16 gauge Lightnings and Gran Lightnings this year as the last batch sold out quickly. No 30" field barrels:( Would love to find the folks at corporate who like the 16 so much to keep it going. This is word of mouth at this time, but it came from Browning. I did ask for another run of 30 and 32" target guns, but that seems unlikely. That means the value of the existing guns will continue to rise.
Regards,
Jeff |

It's not exactly word of mouth, as Browning announced the two Citori 16's at Shot Show in January. The limited run guns have also been listed on their website since then as well. |

Sorry for the redundant information. Other than information on their website this was the first solid news from a person who works for Browning that I was aware of. I'll stop trying to help.

Jeff, I asked the guy manning the Browning booth if the SW16 would ever be offered in a higher grade with upgraded wood, and a more elaborate receiver. He said "I wouldn't be surprised, but I have not been told that.
Not very definitive, but .... |

Jeff, I'll have both my old 1951 sweet and new 2017 A5 at your shoot in May. George |

I am very much looking forward to seeing all the best guns, and the great people, at the Sweet 16 Shoot this year. New guns and people are always a treat!

Superlight feather would be a good move and I hope they do them again. The chief complaint many perspective buyers have with the Citori is the heavy clay target gun feel. Giving those customers a livelier choice seems smart. |
