No. He is looking for the Ultra FeatherLight, a 16 gauge version with the aluminum receiver, as opposed to the typical steel receiver.

Few were made, and patience will be required, along with quite a few greenbacks, to procure (pry) one from it's present owner.

Best,
Ted

Thanks for thinking of me, but I have 2 of those, one in imp cyl and one mod. The ultra isn't a need, but it is a want. I will be vigilant in my quest!
On another note- Ted, a friend bought a 20 ga.ultralight, not an ultra featherlight. Different gun than the one I have. 1st one I have seen. Can you enlighten me? Thanks

If I recall correctly, that one had a straight English stock, and most had a shorter 26" barrel with chokes tubes. They were a King's Ferry gun. Steel receiver.

They are also more than light enough, typically. The biggest problem with the King's Ferry guns (my opinion) was the gas pipe they used for barrels, to have choke tubes. Had they offered lighter barrels, maybe they would have sold more guns. Maybe not, though.

I have only one King's Ferry gun now, a 3" magnum chamber 12 (ever seen one?) with 26" and 30" choke tube barrels. There is nothing light, or, feather about it, and that is OK for a heavy load gun or something I use for trap. I have hunted pheasants with it using the Federal "Pheasants Forever" load, 1 1/4oz of 5s, and it handles that load just fine.
I have Upper Sandusky wood on the gun (a restock) and the folks there even gave me a custom length that I requested, as to use the gun while wearing heavy winter clothes, 1/4" shorter than standard.
I'm on sabatical from trap, been shooting informal skeet with the doubles. Haven't used the Ithaca in a while, thought many times about selling it, but, I like the gun. I have a really ugly Mossberg 500 I also use for trap, I shoot both guns about the same. I shoot the Mossberg when it is raining, or, use it as a loaner.

I had no problems with any of the King's Ferry Ithaca 37s I sold though my gun importing company back in the day, but, I never sold many. They were an expensive pump, and only a few guys were looking for something like that. I've heard of problems, but, never saw any.

I also have a Remington model 17 20 gauge with 2 barrels, and an Ithaca 37 in 16 gauge, plain as a plank. I've owned plenty more, but, have no need for any more.

Best,
Ted
