I and a friend will be there. He's shooting a Merkel 1620, and I a 147E Merkel.
Looking forward to it.

2 more of us will be heading over from the Badger state. This will be my uncles first 16 adventure and I think he feels I am overstating how fun last years shoot was and how great the people were to meet. Looking forward to it!

This sounds like a great time, I missed it last year for work.
There is a chance I might be able to fly in from Phx for this, but I'd have to fly in the night prior... it looks like it's 11 miles down the 494 from a hotel next to the airport.
I would guess I can get an Uber there from the airport hotel.

What time would events end? Would making it back to the MSP airport by 4:30p be reasonable without missing anything?

I'd be bracketing this between two 4-day business trips, so logistics would be tight, and I wouldn't be able to bring any guns/ammo due to airline timing issues. Last year savage16 kindly offered to support with a gun and ammo, probably one of his auto-5s that he sold earlier this year and I almost bought!

For JNW or folks that have attended, does this sound doable? I'd love to come and shoot an auto-5, haven't ever shot one and am interested in a recent one for steel shot... this would probably be the best event to try one and get folk's input on them as steel duck guns.

Should be able to make it back to the airport by 4:30 and not miss much, if anything. I'm sure we can find you something to shoot. My friend might lend you his GEHA.

Thanks to job changes, My friend Cliff and I won't be able to the 16ga shoot this year. Cliff has to work the weekend and I can't get the Friday off to drive up there from my new job. I recently retired from my state job{corrections officer) that I had done for the past ten years and now I am working for a living. Hopefully we can make it next year. Sad

Can you feel it? Anticipation is in the air - or is that ozone from lightning?

Preparations are proceeding. Spent several hours gluing ribbons onto targets for the pigeon ring today. Really putting my education to work. If you can't make it and want a hat please contact the gun club. They are willing to mail them out. You can call or email.

We will have some door prizes again this year. New rules - you must be present to win. We give these out at the end of the day after shooting. We will also have some prizes for shooting the pigeon ring. Drop a ribbon from a specially colored clay into the ring and you win.

There will be Show and Tell during the lunch break as always. This is also the time to buy and sell stuff - mostly, but not exclusively, 16 gauge. There will be reloading supplies, reloaders, 16 gauge shotguns and various accoutrements. I tried to get Browning interested, but no luck. Too bad, because they could have gotten a lot of great feedback about their products. Hopefully we'll have someone from Ballistic Products there. They are an outstanding supporter of our gauge.

Try to be there by 9AM so we can get organized and shooting about 9:30. I will have various flavors of 16 gauge factory ammo for sale if needed. Remember, no loads bigger than 1 1/8 oz and no shot larger the #7.5.

I'm going to post squadding information this weekend and if you see an oversight let me know. You don't have to sign up ahead of time, but it will help.
Regards,
Jeff

Can't wait to shoot the pigeon ring! I've had the pleasure the few times I shot at the old Yoop Shoot and Great Northern. To choke tight for the ring, or not? That is the question.
