Kevin McCormack on the PGCA site has one in his collection if I recall correctly. He has also modified a common LOM case for a display item to advertise his case refurbishing business.

Not sure what sort of 22 insert with key you are talking about. Also don't know Kevin McCormmack or what the PGCA site is.

Parker Gun Collectors Association. Kevin is a member. I posted your pics over there because I thought they were interesting and also thought someone might have some input about the origin, etc. Folks think it's a pretty cool item, but thus far no one seems to know anything about its history, etc.

It may be a case for a fly rod and reel like the tiny Abercrombie and Fitch "Passport" model from years of old. The rod broke down small enough and the butt section with reel would fit in that main compartment. Seriously.

Or it could be a case for a takedown model blow dart gun used by the African Pygmy Special Forces unit.

cover for a shaped drinking flask? How could a gun or other item, that small, be inserted thru bottom
