I have an H grade (1913) Lefever whose stock has been heavily Lacquered to the point that the checkering is slick as a baby's butt. I want to see if I can gently remove some of this Gunk. Has anyone got some good info on how to remove the stock. I've successfully removed Stocks on my foxes, LC's and Parkers but never attempted a Lefever. Printed info seems to be scarce.

Thanks

Joe

They are pretty easy to disassemble. If you have any issues, drop me a line.

I had to remove the stock on my 1906 Lefever numerous times to repair/ hand fit some of the mismatched metal pieces in the action when I bought it last year. If you saw the pictures of the gun you know I was more than happy to do the work for the bargain price I paid. Anyway, the biggest bugger is that part of the sear system goes through wood, on both sides no less, and you have to push their pivot pin out and remove those parts then reinstall when putting the stock back in place. It's multitasking to say the least and not for beginners.
