I couldn't shoot that group at 21 inches. I'm that horrible with a handgun.

Mike, if I get down that way I'll definitely take you up on that!

Well, I shot the new pistol in combat league tonight. I was going to shoot the entire league with my Glock 34 as it is my home defense pistol, and I've been getting better with it. The lure of new steel was too much. My one handed shooting with my master hand wasn't so good - the 1911 recoils differently than the Glock. However, when I get to use both hands the Dan Wesson shines. Shot my highest score ever - 360/420 with 12 Xs. Each week the range gives a prize for high score on one target. The same guy, who is an outstanding pistol shot, wins it every time. Tonight it was target #6. 12 shots using both hands at 21 feet in 24 seconds with a mandatory reload (two 6 round mags). I tied him with a 114/120! We each get a box of Federal .22 Automatch. I am looking forward to more trigger time with this pistol.

Oldhunter,
That is a great looking pistol! I think a firearm becomes special when you personalize it yourself.

My buddy thinks the Dan Wessons are the only 1911 made. He picked up this 9mm last week and also has a CCO .45 from a few years back.

That Valor is tasty. I'm still struggling with not buying a Specialist in .45 ACP. I don't think I can keep it up. Finally have my gun set up just how I want it. Factory magwell, LOK G10 grips, replaced the green fiber optic front with a red one and now own 8 magazines. Have to buy ammo by the case as this gun and my Glock are hungry!

I'm struggling through some rotator cuff issues and can't presently shoot a shotgun. However, shooting a pistol doesn't hurt and actually augments my physical therapy. Something about lemons and lemonade comes to mind.
