Just curious if the 16 ga Society is still open for membership or if it is closed? The website says membership orders are disabled. I would like to do my part to sustain this wonderful gentlemanly website/forum. |

The owner and founder of the site, Doug Oliver, passed away. As we understand it, the family has not made a decision on what they will do going forward. We are fortunate that the site is still operational at this point. |

Sorry to hear about Doug... just got my first 16ga and tried to join up as well, getting the same message about membership orders.

Yes, at present the ability to join is closed. I'm working with Doug's wife to plan for the future of the site so stay tuned for more details in the months to come. For now it is in safe hands and being backed up every so often for good measure. I am currently paying the hosting and maintenance costs out of pocket, and may look for help in that regard once the dust settles. |

We should all be helping to keep this site running. I will be glad to join as soon as it becomes open again. I really appreciate this site and the civility of it's members greatly. |

Yes the 16ga forum but not the 16ga Society
All are welcome here on the FORUM if they act like we all should

Mike is correct. Being a forum member is not the same as being a society member. |

I agree,I've gotten help here that's available nowhere else. Beside the folks here are friendly and civil. Many of the sites I visit have that "one or two".Doesn't seem to be that way here. |

Ohio,
I think the slight amount of uncertainty about our future and an expanded interest in all things hunting and shotgun related have lead me to venture on to other forums. I won't go into detail as it's just not the civil thing to do, but it has given me a much stronger appreciation for our little group.

Well stated, Charlie! Will miss you at this year's sweet sixteen shoot.
Hard to find a better shotgun/hunting forum than what we have here. Home, indeed! |

Hi guys, I don't post or respond often but I do visit most every day. It seems the forum has become kinda stale and possibly held hostage by those who inherited the domain. I may be completely wrong and if so, I apologize and just respectfully bow out. Thanks for all the great insight and info over the years. |
