Skeettx,

Mike yes retirement is fantastic, a while back I closed part of my gun dog business and as of the end of Dec 2016, I fully retired and legally closed Pine Creek Grouse Dog Trainers all together. Now that i am 68 years old, I want to enjoy the rest of my life traveling around in my Motor Home, Bird Hunting and Fly Fishing. We are in the midst of purchasing a new home farther outside of Pittsburgh, Pa and of course the Potter/Tioga Log Cabin will not be sold under any circumstances. I plan to due a lot more personal Fly Fishing & even much more Grouse hunting, especially with my 16 and 28 Gauge Double Guns.

Glad you made it to retirement, I agree it's going to be fantastic!
Hay are those flats 2 1/2" 16's?

Pine Creek/Dave

Retirement in the Potter County Mountains, you got to love it in God's Country where Double Guns, Gun Dogs, Bamboo Fly Rods and Antique Cars will be the order of the day!

Dave, is your cabin in the Germania/Galeton area? It looks vaguely familiar.

Marcus,

Yes sir I live in the Tioga Forest in that area near the Pa Grand Canyon. You may have been to my place if you own a good gun dog or wanted to learn how to Fly Fish.

Pine Creek/Dave

Enjoy your Elsie Hammer Gun.

I, too, am 68, will be 69 in December Smile

Well, I was at the gun show and a fella in the table next to me had a four wheeled
cart full of flats of shotshells. And he was huffing and puffing Smile
So I said, if I buy the ALL will you take $30 a flat and he said YES, if you take them ALL. Done!!

All the wonderful 16 gauge ammo has been spoken for by my 65mm Krieghoff Drilling and my 65mm Geco SXS.

Mike

Dave,

Pretty sure I've never been to your place but I have put on a few miles scouting and driving around that part of the state in the last few years. I rent a friend's place in Germania a couple weeks a year. Just thought I've been by it but can't say with any certainty.

Of the half dozen LC Smith guns in my modest collection, none are hammer guns. I think you have me confused with someone else.

Marcus,

I mistakenly believed you were someone else that I once knew.

If you have a chance this fall drop me an e-mail and make arrangements to visit, we will take a walk thru the Grouse woods together.

Dave,

Thanks for kind reply about LC Smith literature. I was going to PM the thanks, but am unable to do so. Thus the public forum.

I do not currently own an American SXS and am looking at some point to remedy that glitch, so I'll be buying one or more of those books as a start.. It'll probably be one that's well illustrated so that folks will have less chance of seeing me move my lips while reading. Again, thanks.

I appreciate the generous offer Dave. Let's see what this autumn brings.

67galaxie,

Drop me some e-mail at Pine-Creek@live.com and we will work something out for fall Grouse hunting. Big K (Ken G) and my Brother Kurt drop in for their usual Grouse hunts, and last season KGB was in from out west attending Gun Smithing School so we had a little Grouse Camp one week. KGB will probably be back out west by this fall, so 67 you can fill his spot if you would like to attend.

Now that I am legally retired from Training Gun dogs I will have more time to spend Grouse Hunting with guests.

If you are a member here on the 16 forum and would like to visit and Grouse hunt Potter County Pa this fall, let me know and we will try to work something out for ya.

Marcus,
Roger that.

fred Lauer,

Yes the Name of Rich Painter's business is Economy Gun Smithing, after the actual little town it's located in, Economy Pa. North of Pittsburgh in the Wexford Pa area.
