Thought I'd share my recent addition - A 1944 J.P Sauer and Sohn Ejector, retains at least 95% case color, super bright clean barrels with some very light handling marks, and weighs in at about 5lbs. 11oz. If this double was used much at all I'd be surprised. I plan on changing that this fall for sure.

I see 16ga doubles every so often, With the cheek piece . Once had a Richland 20ga like that, some many years ago. I had to make a slug shooter out of it because when I would swing on left crossing shots I could not help stopping the swing as I fired the gun. Is there something that I Should be doing when shooting a shotgun with a cheek piece? |

I'm curious how it arrived here in the US considering 7 months later the US Army came knocking on the door. Very interesting that they produced these high quality doubles all through the war. |

I can imagine a story, going something like, purchased by a Nazi official and seized/turned in to the Allies (likely US) at the end of the war? |

I don't think they were that strict with what the returning GIs brought back from a concurred Germany in 45-46. I had a neighbor who brought back an Austrian wife |

Wow!
That's a GREAT jp sauer! In my personal opinion, (which isn't worth a hoot), the true pre war and slightly after ww2 Sauer doubles are just plain "fine" guns. "Fine" meaning of highest qaulity, not "fine" as in:" that Mossberg 500 is a perfectly fine beater gun."
Nice find! Excellent! |

That's a great gun. I would love to get my hands on one of those. I would also love to hear the story behind it. I have my Grandads Luger that made a trip home and it so much more than just a gun to us. |

Thanks for kind words guys. I'm pretty excited about it, hope to get to spend some time on the patterning station next week. I'll email the seller and see if they have any info about where it came from. Who knows! |
