This is really sad. There are people you like, and people you respect. For me, even though I only knew him online, Popplecop was both. I'll miss him and his wise advice.
RIP Popplecop.

I will miss you, pop. I always felt like I got a good dose of home from your postings.

Very sorry to hear he's left us. I'll miss his lively comments and his perspective born of so much field experience.

Popple was a true friend and a great guy. I first met him around 20 years ago when he and his son made a duck hunt with me in La. What
was to develop was exchange trips to WI for Canadas(my first) and deer. And an almost annual week duck hunt in Cajun Country. He was my go to guy for info on double guns. He was old school guy in every way. If you are a 16 guy like me, that is the biggest compliment I can pay and other 16 guys will appreciate. Me being a retired trooper and he a warden led to fun exchanges about who was the real police. RIP you old "Possum Cop".

So sorry to learn of Popplecop's passing. A few years ago he invited me to out for a visit and go grouse hunting with him. Sure wish I would have made it happen.
