Guys:

Is the basic 1620 still being produced currently? Merkel USA only shows the "E" model. The Europtic site says "backordered and LCS only shows the "E" version??

Anybody know??

NB

Friend that has one told me they are not being made. He has one.
I wouldn't guarantee his response but that's what I heard.

I thought I'd lost a few (more) Laughing of my marbles when I bought my 1620. I tryied it out a few times, cleaned it good, and put it in the OEM case for later (which never came).

Looks like I wasn't as disturbed as I thought I was. No tellin' where the prices for one will go now, but it's a sure bet it will be up.

I've heard it is better to be lucky than smart. I get lucky some times. Very Happy

I've got one I purchased in 2003, pistol grip, IC/Mod, 28", just about 6 lbs. Kind of light to shoot 4 rounds of skeet with but the best overall upland bird gun I've ever carried. Bismuth makes it a workable gun for ducks over decoys too.

An article in the September issue of gun dog says new for this year Merkel is producing the 40E in 16ga. I haven't been to the website to confirm. One can only hope this gun will be made on a 16 specific frame or on the 20 ga frame.

The 1620 was one of the very best newer generation 16 gauge SXS shotguns. I can't believe they stopped making it! I'm lucky to own one it could be worh big $$.

Maybe you're a bit gullible. Rumor has it you still believe in the tooth fairy, and you don't even have any teeth left. Laughing

Looks like a peg that is supporting the shotgun. Probably displayed on a wall.

Agreed. There's a similar one under the barrel.
