Just told by company I will be visiting the Milwaukee area for the next 5 - 6 months.

Any interesting Gun Stores in the area?

Any 16 GA events on the horizon?

Thanks All

Not sure on your timing but if you are here in the November through April window there is a good hunt club NW of Milwaukee. They have a good sporting clays and five stand and even have five stand heated in the winter. The name of the place is Wern Valley and a one year membership is $1,395 and that includes 20 pheasant. It is well run and they raise pheasants on the club property and they fly well. You may be able to shoot there without a membership - not sure.

They only sell a limited number of memberships so if you are interested call now. There phone number is 262-968-3455.

If you just want to hunt a little then S.E. Wisconsin has a number of Game Management Areas where they release pheasant at least weekly. The season starts sometime in October, but you are better off waiting for some frosts and November through the end of December is probably best. It is hit and miss in those areas. Bong Recreation Area is a managed prairie and they have the largest releases and you need a WI license there and they charge $12 per day. It is non-toxic shot at Bong, but the other areas are open to lead. You will need a WI small game license and pheasant stamp. I want to say the out of state license is around $80 and the stamp isn’t much.

Enjoy your stay. S.E. WI is a nice area

Good Hunting,
Mike

Only need non-tox for migratory birds (doves and waterfowl) at Bong, unless they changed something this year.

I haven't been up there since mom died in 2015, but I always liked Shorty's (www.shortysshootingsports.com), on 60th just off Lincoln Ave, Brew City Shooter's Supply, on about 43rd and Lincoln, Shooter's Shop, 84th just south of Lincoln. Those are all on the south side of town.

Of course, some interesting things can be found at places like the Fleet Farm stores and also Gander Mountain in Waukesha.

I'm sure there are plenty, you will just have to spook them out when you get there.

Regards,
Chuck

Brew city, shooters shop and shortys are mostly black gun and handgun shops....you might find some doubles [sxs o/u] but its not really their style..more likely to find short barreled HD pumps..... Rolling Eyes
