Two weeks ago Scheels had shotgun demo days at my local sporting clays course. I was asking the Browning rep if he had any pull so we could get a 725 in 16. He said that nothing was in the works. However he told me that Runnings had a run of 200 525 fields in 16 gauge made for them. The Bismarck store had two last week with 28" barrels. They are asking $2000 for them. Somehow I left the store without one. |

Was the wood on the 525's anything special or just barn siding? |

All the 16 gauge 525 Sporting models that I have seen (including the one I have and my shooting buddy) they are Grade III, but also had a retail price of about $3,000 when new.

I have a sporting model as well with gorgeous wood. These are grade 1 field models. I can email pics if somebody wants to see them. |

Anybody here have any influence with any browning reps. Sure would be nice to have a 725 with 32" barrels. My 525 is 32" love it. |

The wood finish on my (2007?) 525 is a oil finish. It was a kind of minimum finish from the factory. building it up with some stock oil did bring out a bit more grain, and a nicer more weather resistant finish.
I prefer the oil finish to the gloss acrylic type finish the majority of Citori guns get. |

Take a look at the B. Rizzini BR110 can order with 32" barrels standard production comes in 30" barrels. Lot more reasonable price than the browning. |

The BR110 is a 7.5 pound gun. What is the weight of the 525 field, the add says 6.8 pounds. |

Reviving old post.... but...just picked up one of these on gun broker. The “Runnings 525 special run”. $1910 shipped with a case of federal wing shock and a fancy fuzzy leather gun box. Can’t beat that with a stick, or the plainish stock, lol. They had 5 left. 4 now!!! |
