Hi guys,

Man the time flies by. Here it is 2017 and it seems like yesterday we we shooting clays at Elm Fork in Dallas. We have been in Oregon 8 years now and still haven't got off my lazy butt to go to the range. I guess I fear it will never be as good as the old Texas gang.

Been doing some fly fishing and it ain't bad. I think the Yellowstone area is still my favorite.

No new guns since I last checked in, and still haven't shot the Elsie F grade. Seems my new calling in life is supporter of my granddaughter and her volleyball. She heads for college in a year.

Anxious to hear from any of the old gang if you are still around. What say you?

txshootist,
Check out the Yellowstone around Taylors Fork just outside the North Gate for some serious Rainbow Fly Fishing, you will not be sorry.

Hope all is well in your world!

RGD/Dave

Good to see you post Marc. We keep talking about having a shoot, but so far, it has not happened. Perhaps, if you came to TX, we would be forced to make something happen.

I have probably picked up a double or two since last seeing you, but most of my time for the last few years has been spent building a house in the country. Much more work, time and money involved than I had planned.

Take care, Milton

Well, Howdy Marc,
And Milton and Dave too,

Just saw your post, and glad you are catching some fish. I spend a lot of time fishing, but not much catching.

I have been spending time at my farm over in East Texas. October will get busy as the weather cools down and I have some Boy Scout troops that come camp out.

I am up for a shoot just about any time, but seems like the group kind of disintegrated when you left.

Glad you are up and about and still kicking.

Happy trails,

Jim

Howdy
I am another year older and seem to be slowing down on the dove hunting.
The mourning doves are not around here yet.
Only shot about 50 collards so far

Nothing like a slick M31! Still have the one I got from you, not all that pretty, but man is she smooth!

Good luck this weekend. Wink

I remember the last time we shot. It was kinda chilly but a good time. I never could hit much with that W. & C. Scott 16ga hammer gun I brought. It was a good time with good people .
Elm fork has made some positive changes since then. I'm retired so if anybody wants to get together I'm game.

Regards, Gordon

Hey Marc-

Hadn't been on this site for some months, and just saw the post. Here's my 8 year old American Water Spaniel this dove opener

and one of my French Ideals awaiting birds

Get your Oregon buns back here in the early spring to make Milton get off his overworked arse and host another shoot. Worst thing he ever did was retire- has no time for himself. Rumor has it he's seeing a cutie in Midland also, so we hardly see him.

Rockie and I each have a Lincoln thrower, Milton still smokes meat, and all we need is an excuse to get it all going again.

Mike

Wow! It is really great to hear from all you guys. Sounds like other than some stiff joints, not much has changed. While I would love to get back with all of you and shoot a round or two of sporting clays, it's not likely I will be back that way anytime soon.

Rocky, that model 31 is an overlooked gem. Much smoother than the model 12 Win. My uncle had one and those were his words as well.

Mike, it's good to see you still pop a cap, too. I think I got more of a kick out seeing all the neat guns than actually shooting.

HH, glad to see you throw a line once in a while. I don't fish as much as I could, but that's my fault. I'm just getting lazy.

Milton, I feel your pain. I built my house in Oregon, and it liked to killed me. But glad we did it. Like you said, a lot more expensive than planned.

Dave, I try to get out to Yellowstone every couple years. It's time.

Gordon, those hammer guns are just neat. I have one I swear I'm going to start shooting. I just need to know it's safe.

Until next time,

Cheers,
Marc
