Today I took possession of a 1940 Ithaca that seems to have been used very sparingly.It's never been torn completely down as far as I can tell. 75% blue but the stock needs attention(finish,no cracks).It came from the Detroit area. My guess is when the pheasant disappeared it went in a closet never to see the light of day again. Restoration has already begun. Very Happy

Congratulations on the "new" prewar acquisition! There is something special about the prewar 37's. Have a 16 ga. 37R prewar but still looking for a prewar field. And 37S and 37T in 16 ga. LOL.

I really like Art's The Original Herter's Formula Stock Filler in French Red for refinishing 37 wood. Couple of weeks ago picked up a 20 ga. prewar field that I am debating on restoring or leaving as is.

my 37 was made in 1946, but has prewar wood, it fits me perfect and swings like a dream, congrats
