JoshS,
9 week old Llewellin puppy is Tri Color male will weigh in at about 60 Lbs when full grown, zero HP in his back ground and has a real nice temperament as a pup. When I get him up to the log Cabin in Potter/Tioga, I will take some pictures for ya. Real excited about this particular pup, will probably name him Pine Creek Duke. I was also thinking about calling him Pine Cree Luie (Llew). We will see when I get him home what his name turns out to be.
I do hope our Grouse population here in Pa increases, we definitely need some more forest cut for it to happen however.
Gil,
Almost 1/4 acre to the road, I will definitely keep a close eye on the youngster however, the older dogs are all yard collar trained and while in both homes the Collars are on the dogs. Funny thing you should mention the road cause the 1st night we moved in Penny's collar failed and she was out in the woods hunting till late at night. A boy down at the Dairy Queen called me and I went and picked up my Gordon Dog.
Was real lucky nothing bad happened. Replaced the collar and all is well.

That sounds like an auspicious day to pick up a new Llewellin pup.
Mind you, any day is an auspicious day for getting a Llewellin. Oops, is my bias showing?
Dave, hope the pup turns out great for you. My latest Llewellin is half way through her 10th year and I'm itchin' for a pup. |

canvasback,
This gentlemen has one male pup left from the litter, if you want the telephone number I will give it to you. The Pa/Ohio border is a few miles from Canada however.
Fly the pup up if you want him!

Canvasback is right, any day is a good day to pick up a pup, especially a Llewellin! |

Gentlemen,
Thanks for the nice comments on the Llew pup, will not be able to pick the pup up till around the 12th of October now. Moving into the new home has been a serious ordeal. Farther behind than I thought I would be on everything.

Dave, I recently did what you did, moved to a one level home at my wife's insistence. Now, I can die of old age instead of a fall down a flight of stairs. I have been that route a few times. I am a Maryland guy, but love the Endless Mountains area. What is the post office where you receive your mail at your new house? Whenever I am in the Endless Mountains, I see dozens of homes I would love to live in. |

low gun,
Have 2 different post offices the log cabin one is in Gaines, Pa 16921 and the Westmoreland one is the Murrysville post office 15668. If you are looking to acquire a seriously nice log cabin definitely look in the Potter/Tioga area. Low taxes and freedom!

To me however Potter County, Pa has always been home!

Dave, I spent some time at Ft. Indian town Gap, PA in the early '80's. Really nice country. Nicer people.
How far away from there are you?

Cheyenne08,
Indian Town Gap is about 200 miles from Murrysville, Pa and maybe 160 from Gaines/Galeton. Nice area for sure but the Pa Grand Canyon area of Pa is even more beautiful.

Even have Grouse on our Drive Way!

Gentlemen,
I will now pick the new Llew pup up around the 12 or 13 of October, the move into the new home is taking longer than expected. I am looking forward to the Log Cabin some quiet time and some serious Grouse Hunting and Fly fishing starting on the 14th.
Thanks again everybody for the kind words, this is still the best sporting forum on the Net.

My best buddy's dad used to say, "Think to the worst and you're never disappointed." Gunut you must live by the same creed. |

Although I'm well past retirement age I'm just not ready to hang it up just yet. Fortunately I work for a small company and don't have to. My income is largely commission based, and earlier this year I went to a 4 day work week, plus I arrive pretty much when I want and leave pretty much when I want. So far it's been great, and I have more time to do what I LIKE to do...at least, when my wife's honey-do list isn't too long . It'll probably cost me some money but I'm OK with that; can't beat a 3-day weekend every week ! |
