160928 9017 16 2.75 Cheddite Ch209 800X 27.0 z16 os16 3/4 328.0 Bismuth 9,400 1,550 FOLD #4,6,7 LOTW 9/30/16 LOTW

Not sure about that z16 wad. Only a 3/4oz recipe.

Another option. Take a 1-1/4oz lead recipe, load 1oz bismuth instead. At your own risk, but... I'd do it.
Cross check the height of the two payloads in your wad of choice. If the bismuth volume is equal or smaller than the lead volume, AND the payload is actually lighter, then there should be equal or less friction from payload volume and less inertia from total mass. This may exceed your comfort level, and is at your own risk of course.

I looked at all the bismuth recipes I have, which is all BPI, Alliant, Hodgdon... don't see a good setup with your components. HOWEVER, if you equate the old MM16 wad with the 1680 steel wad (I am not sure they are the same, but 16gaWaterfowler always calls them the same and he is the #1 16ga steel tester I am aware of), then these loads might work from the BPI Bismuth 6th Edition:

20819-17 16ga 2.75" cheddite hull, ch209 primer, BlueDot 28.0gr, MM16 wad, 20ga 1/4" felt wad below shot, 16ga overshot card above shot, 1-1/8oz bismuth, 8gr "original buffer", 11000psi, 1300fps.

If I was to load that, I might drop the payload a wee bit, or the powder by 1 gr, to get down to 1250fps or so and back off from 11k psi a bit (11,500 SAAMI average max). I'd shoot it out of a mod to IM choke, use #4 bismuth for ducks out to 45 yards or #5 for mallards out to 38 yards. And I'd be using the PT1680 wad.

Good luck!

D-I-A - thanks , will look into those ... BD - am taking the Davis , but am only using the 7/8 lead loads , not the Bizz in that guy ... will probably take the 48 sportsman with the cuts for that ... do have some easier 20ga loads and have a M50 Win with several barrels including a never before fired fact full - we'll see how the 16's go . Skeetx - don't have any time to go powder hunting - week is already overloaded , will have to make do !! do have some heavy 28's from last yrs goofing around which may go also .

From Precision Reloading manual Federal hull,CCI 209 primer,800X 22 grns,1oz Bismuth,RemSp16 wad. That gets you 1262 FPS and 8500 PSI Or Winchester polyformed 2piece hull, CCI 209 primer, 800X 23 grns, Rem SP16 wad, 1 oz Bismuth gives you 1291 FPS at 8800 PSI. Popular opinion is you can take your favorite load drop 1/8 oz of shot and everything is good. Check out the reloading forum at Duckhunting chat and read the Honest Opinion on Bismuth thread. If it were me I'd just drop one to 7/8 oz with a spacer under the shot, 1/8" 20 ga felt would be perfect.
