last dollar,
Love to see an experienced hunter with and old dog that really knows his business, nice Pheasants and good old double gun! You ever get out Pa way drop me some e-mail and I will make sure you get into some Grouse and Woodcock, looks like you know how to use that old double gun! Great picture by the way.
Pine Creek/Dave
Come take a walk in our Grouse Mountain with us when ever you can, and bring along your beautiful dog and double gun!
Yep that's a big old Grouse you see in the air as you look down the logging road! Penny our Gordon Setter set that big Grouse up perfectly, however the guys were inexperienced and made a little to much noise spooking the big Grouse into flight before they got into gun range.

We had very few hunters on the opening weekend, lowest number I think I have ever seen. Finding a place to hunt is a problem here, unless you are local. CRP has disappeared at an alarming rate, as have many/most of our walkin areas (WIHA). The numbers are good on Pheasants quail and chickens, after being on a downhill slide for years. Sunday Flash and I went out for a bit after lunch and killed another limit of birds, hunting some weeds in a field corner...Taking today off, making cabbage soup! I'll be heading to Arizona for the winter in a few weeks, maybe chase some quail...Stay well all.. |
