The seller claims it's a 1975 gun, but there's no stress relief cut behind the operating handle slot. Remington was adding that feature a couple years after production started, so it's probably a first or second year gun, i.e., 1964 or 1965. |

Mine's a 1973 gun and doesn't have the cut either. Maybe just on 12g guns? |

I have 1100s in all gauges. The only one without the relief cut is a 1964 16-gauge. The barrel code is not reliable since barrels can be switched so easily. Email Remington and they'll tell you what year your receiver was made by the serial number. |
