That turned out great. Can't wait to see it in May!

I got my gun back from Slim , he did a great job on everything . I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet since the grip was converted to straight , but I am very happy with Slims work and the way the straight grip feels on the gun .

Mine didn't loose any weight like Daves' did maybe because I had him change the pad , it weighs almost exactly the same as it did before .

Mark, that turned out very well! I really like the checkering pattern. You will love how it shoots. I still can't get over how I could inkball a pretty tough rabbit (clay target) with mine time after time.

Thanks Dave , I am hoping I can get it out and shoot it next week . It feels really good , I am hopping I can shoot it as good as I did before the grip change .

Browning should seriously consider a upland straight grip, 24" barrel version. It be a sure contender for the RGS gun of the year...

I have a S&W Gold Elite SxS with what they call a POW grip. It is rounded in the same way as what your pictures call a "half pistol" or "rounded knob".

Which is correct (or are both)?

Just adding to the glory of this thread and wetting a certain someone's appetite... I'm a fan of the new A5 platform and have a couple 12 gauge models. I'm having the same straight-stock conversion done to my 12 gauge A5. I use a camo model A5 for my main duck gun.

Bird Buster those last photos were indeed for you. It's an amazing 16. Good luck in whatever you decide.

I have been wanting one of the new A5 Sweet Sixteens since they first became a rumor well over a year ago. Most listed prices were more than I was willing to invest on a gun sight unseen. Only one shop nearby ever received one, and it was priced high.

Well, I finally cracked and placed an order for a 26” barreled model yesterday. I hope I win the wood lottery. It should arrive late next week.

If anyone is still on the fence about these, let me grease the gears. Cabela’s has them marked down $200 and Browning has a $200 rebate valid through tomorrow 11/26. I could no longer pass up that deal.

Dave and Mark,

I really like those straight stock conversions. What pad is that on yours Mark? I will seriously consider that conversion on mine, once I actually get it. Would one of you please PM to me Slim’s contact information?

Thanks,

Scott

Has anyone heard of any more wood cracking cases on these?

After carrying an 8 1/2 pound deer rifle all day Friday it was a JOY to be carrying my SW16 yesterday in northern Iowa. Two roosters shot at, two Fiocchi Golden Pheasant loads through the Browning Mod choke tube, two dead-in-air birds. Zeb’s manner of retrieve was also perfect to cap off a perfect day.
