I've noticed the subject vendor listed in a discussion or two.
Just wanted to get feedback from folks that have done business with them.
General thoughts?
Quality of customer service?
Accuracy of product descriptions?
Turn-around time?

Addendum / edit -- acknowledging the positive comments from the past... just checking to confirm for recent transactions.

Most appreciatively,
J. P. Morris

No personal experience but the subject has been discussed here before, and seemed to be favorable

I'd love to be there when the company unpacked a shipment from Europe. Gil

I've bought 2 guns from them, and a friend has bought probably a dozen (or close to it.
He likes rolling blocks and they get them).

Based on my (and my friend's) experience I can say:

1. They usually have accurate descriptions. If they say the bore is good, it's good, excellent, it's excellent. They seem to err on the side of favoring the customer.
2. Prices seem generally fair.
3. They know how to pack and ship.
4. Shipment and payment are prompt and professional.
5. To the extent I know what the book is, they are by-the-book.

I can say I'm a satisfied customer, as is my friend.

I've never seen so much $200 junk in one place in my life.

Must be where Cracker Barrel shops for guns.

As they say, one person's junk is another person's treasure.

I have purchased at least 6-8 guns from them.Their descriptions are honest, prices are fair and I have always been pleased with the transactions. One of the better dealers around.

Thanks to all for the feedback. I've rolled the dice on a Savage 430. I'll look it just like any risk; be cognizant of how much exposure you can live with. We'll see how it looks when it arrives.
Safe Shooting,
jpm

I have a Savage 430 in pretty good shape, very unusual gun. I have the 16ga, heavy, was built on 12ga frame. Shoots good.

I'll be anxious to see how you like it.

Hey all, just wanted to add my 2c worth on this older thread. I was looking for a cheaper SxS that I can use when I shoot clays with the kids.  Something I can use rather than my good guns all the time.  I wanted a gun that would mimic the guns I hunt with, but didn't want to spend a lot of $$.  So looking around the various dealers I thought about Simpson's.  The price range was in the ballpark and they do have a lot to choose from.  I found a 12ga Gasper Arizaga (i know it's not a 16, sorry!) for $395.  The gun was what I was looking for.  Called them up and they went over the gun with me, so I pulled the pin.  Paid for it and they sent it out that same day, this past Tuesday, got the gun Thursday (2 day shipping).  The gun was very well packed, and in better condition than what they described. The only cosmetic issues with the gun are some handling marks and minor dings on the stock.  Very happy with it.  The gun was made for the European market, sling swivels and tight chokes.  They said it was choked M/F, but when I measured it with my Skeets gauge they came out IM (or real tight Mod if you get picky) and XF  (.024/.045).   The gun patterns Mod/Lt Full with my target loads and the bbl regulation is spot on, about 50/50. Took it out with the kids and boy does it bust clays.

Anyway, Simpson's was great to deal with.  The down side is they are not the most knowledgeable when it comes to SxS's.  Had to explain what I was asking, but overall a very pleasant experience.  I 'm still looking for a SxS for one of my kids, so I think I'll use them again.
