Well, S., there are ducks and geese in abundance, as well as grouse and quail to pursue. We plan to attend Pheasant Fest in February and see if we can get a handle on what and how many are where. But as wellal are aware, no one is going to have much of a handle on bird numbers in the Dakotas until we see what kind of winter they're having. Then, will the spring rains decimate the hatches? I wish Pheasant Fest was in August annually, then we might have a slightly clearer idea of bird populations and availability. One thing for sure: Life, health and vacations are too preciously short to waste them just taking long walks.....

MC, everybody's different as far as recoil goes. When I have game in front of me, I don't notice recoil unless it's something like a dove shoot where I shoot alot.
