Traveled to the Missouri Ozarks for the weekend shoot at the Vanzant Clay Pigeon farm and had a great time shooting trap and skeet along with other games with a group of folks who welcomed me with open arms. I was of course the only 16ga shooter there but there was one other person shooting a SxS.
The group gathers here twice a year for a weekend of fun. Some folks local, others from as far away as Minnesota. All a bunch of ordinary folks having fun shooting shotguns.
I saw the listing for the event on the double gun forum and will be looking forward to going back next spring. It made me think about the 16ga shoot in St. Paul and I told everybody about the fun we have there.
I also showed them that 16 will break targets just as well when I earned second place in the skeet/trap events combined. |

Byron,
Glad you could make the Shoot 'n' Hoot. I went to four of them and had a great time, shooting sxs guns and pumps, usually 16's.
Bob and Sarah are great hosts and the other shooters are a fine bunch, also. I'd like to make a return visit but since I have retired, I'm busier than ever. One year, I'll make it back. |

I confirmed with bob yesterday that the spring shoot at the Vanzant Clay pigeon farm will be Aprill 6&7.
Everyone is invited to come out and have some fun. |

Thanks Mike,
I had heard about this place from Fourtraxx last year, but didn't know exactly where it was as I had never even knew of Vanzant before, but I know West Plains and will see if I can make it this Apr.
Thanks

Shooting the white clays after dark with the yard lights on was something I had not done before. That was fun. |
