Fed hulls
Dr16
7/8 oz of 8 or 9
17.2 of solo 1250 ( yeah I know it isn't made any more. I bought 40 lbs just before they stopped production. You t 8 left.)
Unique.. don't member for sure but I think 16.8. maybe wrong.

I shoot the following:

Hull: Cheddite
Primer Cheddite 209
Powder: 14 g of 700x
Wad: Claybuster CB0100-16 (WA-16 clone)
Shot: 7/8 oz #8 lead + 3 pinto beans as filler to achieve a good crimp.

Now, realize that the CB0100 wad is the the one that I can get most easily. I have used the DR16 and the load seems weak with it. I am using 3 pinto beans as a filler and the load patterns and performs well for me.

I chronographed this load today. Average of 3 rounds was 1233 fps.

Hey John, instead of beans, why not use the CB0078-16 wad.

I likely will the next time that I purchase wads. I am using up about 1000 of the other wad. I have not found the CB0078 wad at any vendor that I have had access to.

Was gifted a handful of these and yesterday loaded them in an RGL 7/8oz #8 Greendot load, everything fit perfectly + perfect crimp. Nice to not have to mess with fillers. Will be trying the load today for 16y trap.

I just tried my own version of Dan Lee's load. 5/8 oz. of lead shot, 15 gr. of Promo, DR 16 wad, Cheddite primer all stuffed into a WW compression formed hull. With light wad pressure (20 lbs) these load nicely without fillers. Recoil is light and targets break.

I'm a little late to this, but here is my 16 ga. target load (skeet, 5-stand and sporting clays). Works great.

7/8 oz. shot
DR-16 wad
17 gr. American Select
primer: any, usually Cheddite because they're cheapest

velocity: 1,270 with Cheddite or NobelSport hulls; 1,250 with Federal or Herter hulls

Note: American Select does not work well with 1 oz. loads but is great for 7/8 oz. For 1 oz loads I use SG16 wads and 20/21 powder.

I haven't put this through a chrono but my current favorite is as follows:

Winchester Super X Hull
CCI 209 primer
Unique powder - 20.5 - 21 grains
SG-16 wad with felt spacer on the bottom
7/8 oz of #7. 5 or 8 lead

I'm no reloading expert but I personally think it's really soft shooting and more than enough to bust clays. I shoot it out of my Ithaca 37s all the time, as well as a citori 525, and a nitro special. I have no trouble smashing clays at the far stations with this load either (apart from when I aim badly!).

I built the round very light so it could shot for lots many rounds without beating your shoulder up.
