I'm over 10,000 rounds in the RBL. I am not fortunate enough to pick up anything off the rack and shoot it with the same regularity so I emptied out the safe some and purchased the RBL. I shoot this gun for everything. Somedays I shoot it better than others. Only flaws are the guy pulling the trigger.
Got a great deal, No laser engraving, dimensions that fit me well, and customer service is outstanding. I don't have that lump on my middle finger anymore where the old Ithaca was kicking the snot out of me.
We're running out of good gunsmiths around here that can fix the old guns so sending something away for months is not a option.
Like I said your choice, buy what you like.
They're all good when they go bang.

Wow, down to just one gun? New or old, that would make me nervous, especially when you shoot that much. I have had new guns and old ones both fail. Thankfully not often over the years, but being able to grab another gun and continue hunting/ shooting is a genuine relief. Certainly sufficient excuse to own a second RBL! Wink

No fear there is a back up in 16 of course. ROMAC has a heck of a buy on a RBL but alas wrong configuration for me.

Like Brewster11, I am by nature a bottom feeder when it comes to my 16 ga. shotguns. All 14 of them were purchased used with my newest a 1949 mfg Ithaca 37. Nice shot and ITX reloads suit me fine when no-tox shot is required.
