I think the consences is that we all love to read about bird hunting just getting tired of reading arcticles of bird hunting that are being used to try and sell us something.A trip,a new gun etc.
Now how do we get them to listen? |

Hi Wyo sorry for getting in on this post so late but things are always a bit slower over here , My favourite magazine over here is Sporting Shooter , as they say in the heading BY SHOOTERS FOR SHOOTERS. Its editor is Rebecca Green who puts together a great well balanced magazine with something for everyone . It has some great regular contributors one of my favourites is Diggory Hadoke who does a bit on classic guns each month which is my first read each month . Actually after a email to Rebecca a few months ago he did an article on the 16ga which he headed the halfway house of game guns , I also enjoy Notes From Ireland by young Rupert Butler who`s father dad this article every month till he sadly passed away , Rupert does a great job of filling his his fathers boots . Also they do a shooting stars page where readers can send in pictures of there children in the field , my young boy featured a couple of times as he grew up , Any way my favourie magazine , i also buy the Shooting times ocasionally it is acctually a weekly magazine and interestingly it has reverted to repeating old articles from years ago now tittled Vintage Times which are always a good read. I think though the best reading this past season has been your hunts Wyo here on 16GA.COM keep taking us along . God bless WJ. |

kgb,
Actually that is not a bad price, around here that Parker 2 Barrel set goes for even more. My buddy Ken has a couple sets of the 2 barrel Parker Repro's in his private collection, at his Gun Shop in Ohio and he will not even sell them. kgb You know Ken from Grouse hunting with him here in Pa.
Nice Parker Guns, one I would not mind owning, even thou it's a Box Lock.

Dave, I wouldn't be surprised at Ken owning two of just about any doublegun! |

WyoChukar,
I would subscribe to any magazine that had your byline. I thoroughly enjoy your posts and narratives of your hunts. Love your dog Rusty--even though he isnt an English Setter--of which I now have 4. Betty, the best dog I will ever own, will probably have her last season this year. She is 13, slowing fast, but still has the best nose, and has always been a bird finding machine. Fancy will be 4, and has developed into a reliable gun dog. Willow and 'Doodle are two 6 mo old littermates that have great potential. 'Doodle was the runt of the litter, had to bottle feed her to keep her alive, and she is just plain bird crazy. Going to be alot of training sessions this summer.
Keep your posts coming. |

I have some thoughts about the whole nose thing, but decided it belong alone as a separate topic. |

oh yes, I'd rather have a smart dog with an average nose, than a great nose but slow minded |

Gentlemen,
The other great magazine I get is Shooting Sportsman, to me just about the best sporting magazine left on the market today. Ralph does a great job with his Shooting Sportsman Magazine, Guns, Dogs, equipment and destinations all in one nicely done magazine.

Having a pretty girl on the cover holding a shotgun along with a good looking dog definitely helps get your attention! |

You mean there's a girl in that picture/ I only saw the SxS and the dog. The shotgun looks to me to be a 16 gauge. |
