Saw this on GB. Not interested myself but thought someone might be.https://www.gunbroker.com/Item/757784067.

I did verify it is a 16 despite what the one picture says. Is the price reasonable? Is this considered a quality gun?

Savage16, I have a Robust #3 in 16 ga. It has 26" barrels and weighs in at 5lbs, 13 oz's.

It is a little wand, well made, and hell for stout.

Is it considered a "quality" gun? Beats the hell out of me.

I paid more than what they are asking in the starting price for mine a few years ago, I would buy it again.

If a person likes sxs's and dependability, it is more than worthy to consider.

Well made hunting guns. 950,000 made between roughly 1920
And 1985. Mostly field grades but some higher grades.

A traditional boxlock from Manufrance, the company that made the Ideal.

No knowledge of the gun but I have bought guns from Shooting Investments and in those transactions have found them to be easy to work with and the guns were as described. Just an FYI.

Yes, I snagged it. Do I "need" it, hell no, but it is cool. It's choked full and mod and it has 2.5" chambers and what looks to be about 3/8" cast off. Weighs 6lbs, 2oz and doesn't appear to have been used much. Bores are nice and it has the sling in the stock. There are a couple of rust spots on the barrels but overall it's in pretty good shape for a gun from the 50's. (As near as I can tell). It feels nice coming to the shoulder and depending on how I shoot it, it could do some duty in the pheasant fields next year.
