Nitro Special and N.I.D. are pretty much the same internally but NS has a longer frame. I have never held an "A", but in photos they look like a short receiver gun. Maybe someday I will see one up close. Gun shows here don't have many doubles, or anything else interesting. |

Well, some of the work is done on this gun already. Forcing cones are very long and chamber has been extended from 2 5/8" (measured) to 2 3/4". The stock now fits me. The stock was pretty close to begin with. I did my "whittling" with an 1/8" thick flexible sanding pad and 40 grit paper and the job only took 15 minutes. Now I need to convert it to straight grip and replace the rock hard recoil pad. I see a beavertail forend in it's future as well. |
