I have been a fan of these shells from the start and well satisfied with the performance. To date I have shot a bit over 10 flats of the 16s without a failure until today.
I had what can only be termed as a dud. While shooting true lairs right barrel went bang and left went click. Primer was well struck but no ignition. Tried again still no go. Moved the suspect hull to the right Barrel and still no joy.
A disappointment but one failure out of over 2500 I dont know just glad it did t happen I competition.
Your thoughts and experiences welcome.

I have shot 500 or so of the one ounce #8.
They have been flawless. |

I have shot 15000 over the last 3 year without a problem.
This is not what I wanted in my head the first morning of the US National Cowboy Action Match but I am confident there will not be a problem. |

I have had no problems with the Herters shells. But, defective shells do happen. I've encountered factory-loaded shells with wads turned sideways, shells without powder, and reversed primers (in .223 and 9mm).
I hope, before moving the "dud" shell from one barrel to the other and trying again, you checked both barrels for obstructions. |

No complaints here. Use them for clays and hunting. Just need them to go on sale so I can stock up. |

I've had one misfire. Primer struck hard. I laid it on my loadingbench. But that does happen to the best mags. Herrera are a good shell. |

Some of the shells I used on crows today were Herter's 8's. Not the same as my reloads, but a lot of crows bit dirt. The Herter's worked pretty well up to 35 yards on our small crows. |

Looking back over my life i can remember quite a few duds from manufacturers. Use to happen more than it does now.
I had a federal 270 shell not go off one time and i cycled the action while thebuck stood there looking at me. pick it up later primer was hit harf and just didnt go off. Most others were just shooting at doves or somethin less significant. |
