You may have noticed that most photobucket photos are again visible. Photobucket sent me an email announcing "Your photos have been liberated!" and offering an ad-free site and 3rd party hosting for $1.99 a month or $19.99 a year. I'm tempted, but I wonder what they'll do to us if and when they get their members back?

Photobucket had their chance to have my business
They determined that other options were of higher priority
I've made other arrangements

I'm done with Photobucket. That little stunt cost me a bunch of time. I had used them for 3rd party hosting on a dog club site I manage and when they decided they wanted money for it. I had to move everything. The truth is I would have happily paid them a small fee for the service at that time but the way they went about was crap.

lets see....hmmm, was free, stuck me with 400.00 option. they said they were sorry, but didn't go back to what I use to have which was free.
now they stick me with 2.00 a month?
no.....they didn't repent totally.
they are haggling what they still want. money.

give it time. all forums and websites will be adopting pics from hard drive storage pretty quickly and on line storage will die.

and...all the other businesses that are still free are a better deal. free!

doesn't anyone recognize the set up? its just like shopping for insurance or a phone provider.

one has more bars, gigs, coverage for less....and this one doesn't. etc.

they got everyone comparison shopping like lambs lead to slaughter.

I don't like being lead around.
goodbye photobucket.

I now use Imgur and it works very well. I also copied all my photobucket stuff to another site when they started their shenanigan so they're all safe. But I never closed my account so the images are still sitting there, and I did find it easier to organize images in PB. That feature alone might be worth a few bucks to me, but I expect they've already burned too many bridges. I doubt this will work either and that they'll be out of business soon.

NEVER going back to photobucket. Had / have around 4500 photos there. Locked away
from my access unless I ante up. NOPE! Once was enough.
