Anyone have any jury-rigged or aftermarket shell catchers that work well or would work well with the new a5 sweet?

Figure Even if it’s something that works “most” of the time it’d be that many less shells hitting the ground...

I’ve tried the rubber band thing and I either don’t understand how to do it or just break a lot Smile

Thanks in advance,
Rob

TrippleH,
Birchwood Casey makes a wire shell catcher that attaches with double sided tape for 12 gauge. I have successfully used it on my older A-5 and 1100 16 gauges. You need to bend the wire down a little to get it to successfully catch 16 ga. shells, it takes some fiddling with, but I have had good success. The wire is stiff and does have some memory to it, so it needs adjusted every once in a while.

For 1100s, the 12-gauge T&S shell catcher will work on the 16-gauge. Other guns may be able to use the BC product.

The rubber band version takes some experimentation and a heavier rubber band than u may think. I've used the blue ones that wrap veggies. try positioning the rubber band across receiver just in front of the bolt handle. Don't know if the xtra long receiver of the new a5 will be an issue.

Sounds like it would be easier just to bend over and pick them up. Big magnet on your receiver port?
