Anybody have one of these they can give a review on? Looking at one pretty seriously.
Thanks

Not sure if this is helpful. I have a 147e. Have shot about 15 boxes through it. It’s been 100% reliable. Handles and fits well. Only complaint is it’s stiff to open. |

I have a 50E in 20ga. Same gun but it is a sideplated boxlock. Shot it for many years, has over 50K shells through it, not one malfunction.
I'd dearly love to find it's big brother in 16ga! |

Thanks guys, the 40 E is the working mans Merkel, same internals but laser engraving and checkering to save money and the receiver is a nitride finish. |

Hard to go wrong with the Merkel name. I dreamed of owning one for many years - and then I got lucky, being in the right place at the right time three times, and I now have three. 147E 16ga sxs, the above-mentioned 50E sxs, and a 200E 16ga o/u. Love them all! |
