Cool dogs those Munsterlanders, both large and small. |

be interesting hearing how the SoDak hunts go . The F&G dept I believe was a little deceptive on reporting Pheas . They finally came out how the hatch was so much better than last yr - was all time low last yr 1.6 BPM , and this yr 2.4BPM ... Avg is 8 BPM , so way low still . This can promise a good yr NEXT yr if a good spring finally happens ... good luck to you HOOTCH and everyone else who goes ! |

Fair number of birds, but weather was warm and windy and birds were wild. I managed to kill a few. |

I have friends that hunt north central sodak on some very large plots of private ground. They hunted 2.5 days, I believe there was 10 in the party. They come home with less than thirty birds.
They’ve hunted same place many years in a row and this by far the poorest. |

Maybe parties of ten that swoop in when bird #'s are low and then clean up on what birds they do see, has something to do with that......... |

My son and I just got back from NoDak...just over the boarder from Aberdeen. They had snow in Oct and the harvest is late. About 40% of the corn was still up and that made birds tough. I'm sure they had the same problem in north central SoDak. |

Ellendale, Ludden, Oakes?
Have family farmland there, need to get back there but it’s a long trek from anywhere. Waterfowl hunting today is awesome, phez can be disappointing.
Back in the day pheasants were EVERYWHERE, not unusual to run over a couple every time you went out in the car in the evening when they were pecking gravel in the roadsides. Nothing like that today, clean farming not hospitable for them. |

yes...near Ellendale. We've been hunting there for about 12 years. We usually do well, but we're usually there after the corn is down. Tough for the farmers right now....they're frantically trying to finish the corn and about 20% of the soy beans won't get in, I think. |
