This is Beem, in 2016 finally visiting the "other" town in his registered name, Roulette, PA. He'll be 13 in March of next year, this season he's just gone out on short 1 hour hunts as a pair of youngsters have taken over the heavy lifting.
He is the first of our Gordons to come from Clearcut Kennel, the latest pair came from Tallgrass out in Idaho as the timing for litters worked out better and now I know of two great sources for Gordon Setters.

kgb,
Penny my Gordon female Grouse dog is now 14 almost 15, her last big hunting season on the big mountain in Potter/Tioga was this year. Just received delivery on a new Gordon female pup from Clearcut kennels. She is now 10 weeks old and a series hand full!
Give Beem a big pat on the head for me, try to make it back, the Grouse and Woodcock hunting this year in Pa has been fantastic, wet snow and great gunning with birds sitting tight.
Been wearing the Grouse Sweatshirt you gave me, I like it a lot!

Good luck with Shadow, Dave, she looks to be a classy sport as she grows into a grouse dog.
I don't recall you being a Fox fan but over on the Fox Collectors site a couple LC Smiths have showed up as eye candy, an A2 and Eagle Grade that look pretty sweet. (For L. C. Smiths) |

My first Sandhill crane several years ago. That's a Fox sxs and my spaniel (then) Skye. 1 ounce of #6 bismuth did the trick in this 16 ga. Delta Junction, Alaska.

January, 2014, early, cold morning dove hunt. The birds flew and a I caught my death of a cold in the cold wind. Abby, my now 8 year old Britt, had better sense and got between my legs out of the cold. That's my 16 gauge, M12. Gil

Be careful with cranes and dogs. A crippled crane will do it's best to peck the dog's eyes out and they are quite capable of it. They will peck a hunter's eyes too if given the chance. |

A late friend wouldn't take his dogs crane hunting for the very reason stated regarding danger to a dog's eyes from a wounded bird. Gil |
