Man, that is a nice gun. You could use a gun like that for everything that flies pretty much. Everything with feathers that is Rolling Eyes Laughing

Yes...that happens to be yours truly’s gun.
I like it plenty and it does hit what it’s pointed at.
I’ve since put several more coats of oil on the wood to good effect.
Very very pleased with this gun...especially considering cost. She carries and swings. Like a dream. Love the round body, as well.

I'm not sure how I like the skip-line checkering. It might look pretty good in hand, or not. Anyone who knows me knows I'll have it changed in a New York minute if I think it will make me happier, and of course if I shoot the thing well enough to keep it.

That's my worry too. Spend $2k on a special order gun only to find out you don't shoot it that well. You roll the dice and take your chances...

Same risk for anyone buying a new gun, or a nice used gun with no test drive. Even with a test drive it's usually not enough to really know. I take some comfort knowing the $ came from downsizing of my shotgun lineup.

Looks great, Pockets! I'd be very happy with a stock like yours.

It is my fervent hope that yours is even more nicer than mine and that it becomes your go to 16 sxs.
Very Happy

FYI Pockets, there's a shady character over on UJ named "John" claiming that's his gun. Just thought you might want to get a handle on that...

A spurious character is that scoundrel. When next you see of him, tell him I said so. A thrashing wouldn't be out of line.

Truly a reprobate of the worst kind. If it weren't for his taste in puppies, I'd say the man would have nary a redeeming quality.

Still, I shall convey your message and if I chance to meet him, a glorious thrashing will he receive.

Dave what are you waiting for Christmas?! I want to see your new gun! And once you have broke it in proper if you would be so kind as to let me shoot it on a station or 2 to see if I like the 30" better than the 28" ISIDE. Which I liked well enough.

Since I've been on here have thought several times over the years that Upland Carpenter guy is a pretty decent guy, and he and I even think alike sometimes. And I finally just realized who you are LOL.

That John character was easy enough to spot though Cool And nice job on that finish!

Well--thank you kind sir. I've heard that bird hunters from Wisconsin and Minnesota are passable as humans, like good dogs and are partial to going through shotguns like my pup chew toys.
