Dave our Boxing day hunt was one of the best days we ever had the birds were in the right place at the right time ,we had 7 guns in the woods and another guy working his two dogs , the dogs were the stars 2 cockers 1 Springer 2 labradors and a springador ,we had I think our best day ever with a bag of 19 Pheasants 2 snipe and 1 Woodcock ,I added 5 pheasants and 1 snipe to the bag with the 16ga Jeffrey and my 20 year old son put 3 pheasants in the bag with his Petersoli Hammer gun ,we got a couple of photos Dave but they weren't great but we will try and get some up here soon ,Just in case you think this day is normal we went out on Saturday the same team and I got no birds and John shoot a Teal Duck and had a really good shot that bagged him a nice cock bird , another guy got 1 cock Pheasant and 2 woodcock , but it was still a great day out, Hope 2019 is as good best wishes to all 16 gaugers 👍

Happy it has begun! I went out today in subzero weather and hunted in a T-shirt since there was no breeze to keep my cursed glasses from fogging as I trudged up steep snow covered slopes. It still amazes me that I can break out in a sweat dressed like that when it's cold enough the truck will barely start. One covey rise from the chukars was enough. I doubled and went back to the house. Let's just that that lunch was prompt and delicious.

WyoChukar,

Good shooting old man, glad you had both a nice outing and a nice lunch! Little to warm for any Pheasant hunting here in Pa right now, stuck with the honey due list, installing the Gas Fire Place in the new Game Room.

Believe me I would rather be outside getting the glasses fogged up!
