| < 16ga. Guns ~ upper sandusky barrel |

just got my new model 37 barrel from Ithaca. (16 of course.) did you guys know the upper Sandusky barrels use invector chokes? very handy for me, as I already have numerous invector tubes.  |

| lol, pics are beyond my ability, but happy to supply all details. 28'' vent rib, it says upland on the side of the barrel. as far as wait time, I called in on Monday, received the barrel either yesterday or today. (I'm a truck driver, was not home yesterday.) the guy I talked to said they are running very low on 16ga barrels. |

| btw, if anyone has an improved cylinder tube for a king ferry barrel, I would be happy to pay a reasonable price for it. (I have a 26'' king ferry barrel as well.) |

There is some difference between the base of the invector tubes and the Sandusky Ithaca Plus tubes. I go with the Ithaca plus tubes for my upper Sandusky gun, I get them from MPC Sports. And have a King Ferry bbl. for it also. But it is my waterfowl gun so is a 12 ga.
Grouse however prefer to be shot with purple shells. They have told me so numerous times. I have a King Ferry UL 16 for that.
Honestly for grouse hunting I prefer the pre 55 guns. In 26" choked IC. They just kind of work well for me. And don't require messing around with choke tubes. The older I get the more I appreciate that for some reason.

| You should be safe doing that, although the gas ring may or may not work at the skirt of the choke. The Ithaca barrels are not backbored like the Brownings so there is a difference in diameter of the bores and chokes. Briley told me the Inv chokes would be more open than what the constriction is marked on them when put in an Ithaca bbl. if I recall correctly. Have fun with your new barrel! |

This is very cool information....didnt realize they would make a barrel to fit an older gun...
What beautiful pump guns in those pics. Like a dream.
And I agree about the pre 1955 guns...theres some magic there...especially in a 26" bbl |

They are especially in 16.
Had a 12 ga. 37 in the locker on one of the Amphib ships I was on, many years ago. Everyone knew to keep their mitts off it because it was "my" gun. I didn't know what an ordnance stamp was back then and always thought of it as my 37 with a bomb stamped on it LOL. |
